Job Description

Marathon Staffing is seeking qualified candidates for temp to hire, 2nd and 3rd Shift, Machinist positions available immediately in Carson City, NV!

Machinists operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, such as grinding and milling machines, to cut and produce precision manufactured parts. Machinists repair or produce parts using both manual and automated equipment with precise measurements based on blueprints and/or technical drawings.

Responsibilities:

· Replace cutting tools as required to meet product conformity.

· Safely operate overhead cranes.

· Maintain a high level of quality and attention to detail in close tolerance manufacturing.

· Possess intermediate math skills for measurement, testing and problem resolution.

· Display proficiency in the use of inspection tools such as micrometers (ID/OD/depth) calipers, pi tapes, etc. and hand tools including layout tools, grinders, drills, wrenches, mallets, etc.

· Read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders and manuals. Knowledge about geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

· Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed.

· Work effectively with minimal supervision.

· Perform routine maintenance on equipment.

· Complete required inspection documentation reports.

· Receive priorities, instructions, and assignments from supervisor.

· Observes safety regulations and exhibits a high concern for safety.

· Maintain good housekeeping practices.

· Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.

· Perform other duties as directed.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (experience is appreciated but not required)

Trade school education/certificate preferred.

Machining certificates as equipment requires.

Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and familiarity with Microsoft packages.

Pay rate of $25.00 per hour and may increase upon full time hire. Benefits available during temp to hire period!! Shift hours are as follows:

2nd Shift Hours - 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM

3rdShift Hours – 9:00 PM to 6:30 AM
