  • Full Time (40 hours per week), Temporary (1 Year Assignment)

What you’ll be doing

This role involves performing electrical and mechanical work in the installation, testing, maintenance, and inspection of single and three-phase meters and related equipment. The successful candidate will work independently, follow safety protocols, and contribute to ensuring accurate metering services for the community.

You will be responsible for…

  • Install, test, calibrate, and maintain electric watt-hour meters and associated equipment.
  • Conduct field inspections of meters and service entrance equipment for proper wiring, grounding, and compliance.
  • Configure and interface with Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) systems through computer software and networks.
  • Perform accuracy tests on meters, including during installation and in-service verification.
  • Assist with the installation of commercial metering, power quality equipment, and photovoltaic system interconnection testing.
  • Use infrared cameras to inspect electrical connections and identify potential issues.
  • Operate a full-size truck and manual tools such as pallet jacks or forklifts for equipment handling.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed in billing and maintenance systems.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, emergency response, and overtime as required.
  • Follow all safety procedures and utilize personal protective equipment to ensure safe work practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1- year full-time experience in installation, testing, and maintenance of electric meters and related equipment.
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License (or obtain upon hire).
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification by the date of hire.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety.
